Cortijo Los Arrendajos

The Romans built fortifications at Antequera but it was not until the 11th Century that the Moors started to build the castle which can be explored today. The views, like this one from Papabellotas Tower, are breathtaking.

In the distance is the striking rocky outcrop called "Pena de los Enamorados"....legend has it that in the 12th century a Moorish princess and a Christian convict jumped to their deaths from here when their religions forbade them to continue their relationship.
